Israel-Gaza war updates: Residents fleeing areas of central Gaza; groups criticize U.N. resolution

Residents of central Gaza were evacuating refugee camps and neighborhoods after Israeli forces told them to leave, a sign that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is expanding military operations in the Palestinian enclave. Aid and rights groups criticized as insufficient the United Nations Security Council’s Friday resolution that calls for “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses” in fighting to allow for the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza but does not demand a full and immediate cease-fire.
