Middle East conflict live updates: Israel to send team to D.C. to discuss Rafah; Blinken will return to Mideast

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted President Biden’s invitation to send a senior delegation to Washington, national security adviser Jake Sullivan said, to “hear U.S. concerns about Israel’s current Rafah planning and to lay out an alternative approach” to targeting Hamas in the crowded city in southern Gaza. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Saudi Arabia and Egypt this week amid ongoing negotiations for a cease-fire deal.
